We are the mighty sons of Chingis…NOT!
Sitting on our backsides, thinking ourselves
New learning, as warriors, we just cannot.
This would mean actually working delves?
Mongol males work only with the bowknot,
As sons of Chingis, look today, rare are we.
Like peacocks, we display frills and topknots,
seeking all women, drawn to us by pair or three.
Lazy males, stupid males, who simply will not
look at what Mongolia needs, that’s real men!
Lazy males, stupid males simply want to unknot
a culture of wise and duty to become dustmen.
Where are Mongolia’s warriors needed today,
learning new warfare, building our schools?
Strong sober fathers, leaders in work and play,
joining the world in knowledge warrior pools!
…we seek Mongolian Warriors!
and what do we have…
Chingis sons on your backsides are total snots
you males now…are little more than whatnots
Author's Note:
As the author, I wish, in this poem, to express (and especially to give Mongolian youth an understanding of) my concerns that the majority of Mongolian males are too egocentric and in this, they are not prepared to meet today’s challenges in this “new world order.” Our Mongolian men are proud to be the sons of Chingis, our Khagan who once ruled half the world; yet in this day, Chingis Khan would turn his back on today’s Mongolian male as unworthy. As the author and as a Mongolian patriot, I am trying desperately to wake the son’s of Chingis to the coming battles that they are NOT prepared for. This author loves her Mongolia very much and wants its men to awaken to their responsibilities and duties to their families, their communities and their country, my Mongolia! You used Shakespears Sonnet Form and used it to write the work; where the work demanded more of the form, the form was changed to present the work. The form did not control the work, the work controlled the form.
